Starting with January 2, 2019, AIDRom started the TOLERANT project, the Transnational Network for the Integration of Women Victims of Trafficking in Human Beings.
The overall objective of the project is to increase the integration of third-country nationals trafficked for the purpose of sexual exploitation into the labor market in Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy and Romania and the EU in general through employment support. More specifically, the project aims to:
– stepping up transnational cooperation and exchanges on the integration of women with the right to vote for sexual exploitation in the labor market
– increased access for women to the sexual and gender-specific services of VoT for sexual exploitation, supporting their access to employment (taking into account the specific needs of sexually exploited victims
– raising awareness among employers, recruiters and decision-makers and / or other relevant stakeholders about the importance of facilitating women’s access to the labor market
The action will focus on Austria, Greece, Italy, Bulgaria and Romania. The first three countries are countries of destination and transit, and the last two are main countries of origin and, to a lesser extent, countries of transit and destination.
By supporting VoT to control their lives and function as autonomously as possible in the host country, re-victimization is reduced, as is the risk of social exclusion. Women will be able to become more active in the host society.
The action is expected to benefit approximately 270 VoT women for the purpose of sexual exploitation, from third countries, who will have access to support services in partner countries.
The overall objective will also be to benefit different actors in other EU Member States facing similar challenges. They will provide support for Voting and combating THB (social partners NGOs, migrant refugees and asylum seekers, national and / or local authorities, etc.) in partner countries (and / or other MS) and will be involved in the transnational network and which will be maintained and updated for at least 10 years.
