Education and Formation
EDUCATION & FORMATION FOR DEVELOPMENT, PEACE AND RECONCILIATION DEPARTMENT
The establishment of Education & Formation for Development, Peace and Reconciliation Department of AIDRom was related to the needs of the Churches and our social partners to promote a culture social justice and welfare, of peace and reconciliation, to provide the necessary tools for development projects, considering the fact that without a peace culture proper development is not possible. Thus the definition of “peace and reconciliation” in AIDRom is a broaden one, extended to internal issues within a certain organization or a network, comprehensive to capacity building tools for partnership, access to resources and management skills, as those are important to the whole process of achieving rights, peace and reconciliation. It aims especially to a non-discriminatory culture in the field of social and civic participation, formal and non-formal education, relationships between minority and majority.
The strategy of the department has a rights based approach and focuses on Human Rights from a both secular and non-secular Christian point of view, in a structured attempt to bring into the public space the Christian values that could avoid infringement of Human Rights. Together with other Churches from Europe we work so that the society might achieve Human Rights through the prism of Christian behaviour and have an alternative to the excessive secular way of approaching rights into society.
