ECUMENICAL FORMATION

This program tried to to offer an ecumenical platform for youth organisations from AIDRom member Churches. In 2008, AIDRom  invited YMCA leadership in its trainings for structural funds and continued to send ecumenical literature to the faculties of theology, especially the booklets of the Ecumenical Commission series.

The efforts regarding ecumenical training are a direct consequence of the overall objective of the department that stresses the importance of a better ecumenical training for lay and youth. In this same direction, the specific objective tends to establish local commitees in various fields of activity and to develop networks.

Young theologians were assisted in their travel for scholarships abroad and also professors of theology in international ecumenical church events, especially in the WCC commissions for dialogue.

These activities are in the same line as those developed by the World Council of Churches, such as the internship programme, the steward’s programme, or the creation of a new „youth body”. The training activities worldwide are connected through the ongoing World Youth Programme.
