DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

From “social services for community” to “community development” is a vision that came to shape in the last two-three years for all Churches in Romania. Many church units and diaconal institutions in Romania realized that although social services are good and welcome, these are not enough for a stable community and durable enhancing.

Thus, AIDRom has to prepare to become not only a clearinghouse but also a know-how provider to those that would like to be involved in Development.

Thus AIDRom, for the period of 2009-2011 is entrusted to act in the following direction:

• Build the capacity of being involved in Cooperation for Development
• Enable Churches to get involved in a professional way in Development programs
• Support education programs and theological reflection regarding church values in community development
• Issue publications concerning the role of Churches in Community development in a secularized world
